Google, I'm requesting this feature!

Hey Google!

I've had this idea for quite a while, and I'm not too sure why google hasn't implemented it yet. Basically, my idea is to allow users with google accounts, to customize the layout of the frontpage. Now I know you're thinking "silly web user, we've done that already with Personalized Homepage!", well that's not quite what I'm talking about. I think users should be able to add, remove various Google features to the main search bar. A good example of this would be allowing users to replace the "Images" search with lets say, "Directory", so that way we can find the information we're looking for without having to navigate through sub menu's the way you currently have it (eg: click the "more" link to get to froogle, scholar, directory, etc). Please consider this as I feel it would GREATLY improve the usability of your search and make google even that much more cooler!

Sincerely,
Ken

PS: ALSO, I along with THOUSANDS of other nerds would seriously like the ability to use escape characters in our searches, so that we could find EXACTLY what we're searching for.
